I don’t know who to give credit to for saying those words first, but I say them often. My very own spiritual life suffered, and I didn’t even know it. I felt good in my ability to listen to a sermon and apply whatever truths into my life. I could even take a section of scripture to make a good devotion for myself or others. As I look back at those days, I realize that I was settling for a “good enough” version of getting to know God.
I hope that is not the case for you. Our weekend worship gatherings are good, but I don’t want you to miss out on growing closer to God or finding community with other believers in our church. The best tool, or weapon we have as a follower of Jesus is the Bible. It is a God-given resource so that we can get to know God better. That is the point!!! God is our greatest need. He made us with an internal desire to have more of Him.
As we are praying and talking about the next steps in the life of our church concerning future growth, I hope you are using or considering using RightNow Media. CCC partnered with RNM in February so that we could continue on a path of discipleship that would not be affected by the pandemic. Many of our people are using it now, and I want to challenge you to use it for the glory of God!
Until we have more discipleship groups and space for more groups to happen during our weekend services, RightNow Media will help you know God better. Even as we are going through the Gospel of Mark, we have some (including myself) that are taking a journey through the book with video series on RNM. The video devotions are being filmed on the locations that the scripture happened to begin with. This brings more depth as we get to see the places that the moments of Jesus’ ministry happened.
We can preach you through the book of Mark, but a personal journey that you choose to take will fill your heart more that Myke and I ever could. RightNow Media can help you in your walk with God through a relationship with Jesus. RightNow Media can help you in your walk with God through a relationship with Jesus. I would love to answer any questions you may have or even help you with any concerns. Our mission as a church is to make fully devoted followers of Christ through worship, service and community.
Whether you are using RightNow Media or wanting to read through the Bible with a reading plan, we need more of God in our lives. Even in the face of a pandemic, that mission has not changed.
